"Given that the COVID-19 crisis affects men and women in different ways, measures to resolve it must take gender into account. For women and girls, vulnerabilities in the home, on the front lines of health care, and in the labour market must be addressed.” (Linde and Laya, WEF, 2020)

The panel discussion will explore gender and COVID-19 crisis. The panel members will discuss the gendered experience, impact and effects of the crisis and the ways we are responding to it. Some of the questions that will be explored include:

  • How will the crisis and the way we are managing it impact gender mainstreaming?
  • What are the gendered ramifications of the lockdown?
  • What are the trends on gender-based violence during the crisis?
  • What are the trends regarding mental health?
