A key to understanding and managing the current diversities in South African and in the world.

Humanity is facing up to some hard truths. We have some powerful choices to make. Many will be political, some religious, and others educational. All will be predicted on the Spiral, whether we recognise it at the time or not. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing, but ignorance is worse. If you are now awakening to Spiral Dynamics, you will hold a tool to a versatile model for understanding how and why change does or does not and perhaps should not occur.

This conference is designed to explore the kaleidoscope of differences that inform the way in which we organise and behave as explained by the bio-/psycho-/socio- adult development theory of Spiral Dynamics. Deeply anchored in the work of Prof Clare Graves (contemporary of Maslow) and applied in South Africa to inform our transition to a peaceful new democracy by geo-political psychologist Dr Don Edward Beck, this conference promises to offer deep and insightful conversations about how humans adapt to changing life’s conditions. This may be a particularly important topic to consider during the current COVID-pandemic.

Dr Loraine I Laubscher worked as the associate of Beck on his 64 trips to South Africa. She sadly passed on last month on age 89. She made history by finishing her PhD at age 83. In celebration of her contribution to our country, the integration of African Philosophy into mainstream Western thought and spiral dynamics theory, this conference is dedicated to her.

“Merge this colourful knowledge into your wisdom and other insights. Then use it wisely and well.Let's create the future we all want” -Dr Loraine I Laubscher

By exploring and describing the core intelligences and deep thinking systems that flow beneath what we believe and do, the conference will offer a profoundly incisive, dynamic perspective on complex matters such as:

  • HOW people think about things (as opposed to “what”they think)
  • WHY people make decisions in different ways
  • WHY people respond to different motivators
  • WHY and HOW values arise and spread
  • The nature ofCHANGE and how to UNDERSTAND DIVERSITY.
