National HR Competency Model sets benchmark for HR Professionalism
The SABPP’s HRM System Model and Standard describes what organisations should have in place in order to optimise their human capital and to provide meaningful work and quality of work life for employees. The HR Competency Model is closely linked to the Standard and describes what HR practitioners need to be able to offer in terms of knowledge, skills and behaviour to implement the Standard.
The National HR Competency Model has been further developed to contain a full competency library, with behavioural indicators detailed in accordance with Levels of Work, covering Level 1 Support, Level 1 Professional, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4. Both generalist and specialist HR roles are catered for. The library contains also a breakdown on a similar basis of all HR technical work, in alignment with the HR Architecture of the HRM System Model.
